TiE-DC has implemented a code of conduct that is to be adhered to by all members as part of our commitment to fostering a strong and cohesive community.

Upholding the integrity of our organization and fostering a culture of mutual respect among our members are fundamental elements that underpin our long-term success.

TiE DC is an esteemed global community of distinguished entrepreneurs, recognized for our commitment to fostering innovation and growth. Our focus is on delivering value to our members through our five core programs, which include Mentoring, Networking, Education, Funding, and Incubation. Our long-term success hinges on preserving the integrity of our organization and nurturing a culture of mutual respect among our members. We expect all individuals who engage with our community to exemplify the highest standards of confidentiality, accountability, and courtesy, as these values represent the bedrock of our community.

As a prerequisite for being part of our community, every member, vendor, and sponsor is expected to pledge their commitment to the following code:

  • To exhibit mutual respect for the confidentiality and integrity of the individuals and companies associated with our organization, and to be fully transparent about any conflicts of interest. We strongly advocate for strict adherence to both the legal and moral codes without any gray areas, as we aim to maintain the highest standards of integrity and professionalism in our community.
  • As a community, we expect our members to abide by good Samaritan policies and a simple rule – to foster an environment that encourages sharing and giving, not taking. This includes respecting the spirit of non-solicitation, as we recognize and value our members’ ability to participate in events and interact with one another in a secure and comfortable environment.
  • We expect all members to maintain exemplary standards of professional conduct and adhere to high ethical principles in operating their ventures.
  • It is important to always have a thorough understanding of your obligations to the organization and fulfill commitments made in a timely and productive manner. This includes any undertakings to volunteer for events or other community-related activities.
  • We expect all members to maintain high standards of professionalism and courtesy in all interactions with staff, sponsors, and other volunteers and to demonstrate respect for their intellectual property as well as an appreciation for their reputation and character. We strongly emphasize that any form of verbal abuse against staff or fellow members will not be tolerated and may result in expulsion from the community.
  • We highly value your commitment to adhere to this policy, and we expect all members to conduct themselves in a professional manner at all times, both at events and in their interactions with fellow members. Failure to uphold these standards may result in the non-renewal or termination of membership without a refund. We encourage all members to share their feedback, thoughts, and ideas directly with the Board of Directors, as we always welcome and appreciate input from our members.
