Who Can Participate

TiE U will accept applications in two distinct tracks to offer tailored support to all participants. Shortlisted teams from each track will receive mentorship and compete in regional pitch competitions. The winners from each region will advance to the global pitch competition at the prestigious TiE Global Summit, gaining unmatched international visibility and opportunities.

The two tracks are:

  • Pre-Revenue Track – For startups in the ideation stage.
  • Revenue Track – For startups in the early revenue stage.
Track 1: Pre-revenue Track(For startups in the ideation stage.)
Open to undergraduate and postgraduate students with a validated startup idea
All team members must be currently enrolled in a college or university
Teams should have a minimum of 2 and a maximum of 5 members (max. limit is optional)
The applicant must be the founder or co-founder of the startup
A basic prototype should be developed, with some level of customer validation completed
Revenue generated by the startup must be under $5,000 (as the startup is in its early operational phase).
Track 2: Revenue Track For startups in the early revenue stage.
Open to undergrad, postgrad/graduate students
The startup must have a real product and early customers.
Teams should have a minimum of 2 and a maximum of 5 members. (max. limit is optional)
At least one team member must be a current postgrad/graduate student.
If any co-founders/team members have graduated, it should be no more than two years ago.

Revenue requirements: (since the startup is operational)

  • Eastern Hemisphere startups: ≥$5K revenue
  • Western Hemisphere startups: ≥$25K revenue
TiE U Alumni are eligible to reapply (but not past chapter winners)
